my approach
as your strength coach
Hi, I’m Adrienne (pronouns she/her), and I’ve got a hot take to share: you do not need to spend hours working out to build strength and move freely and confidently through life. Goals are achieved with a solid plan and consistency. As a strength coach I provide guidance and accountability to help clients establish the necessary new habits to make progress towards their strength goals.
I am also a non-diet coach, and believe in ASDAH Health at Every Size® principles. What does this mean for you?
I do not care what you weigh or what your BMI is. No progress photos, no body measurements, ever.
I do not promote restrictive eating habits, and encourage goals that are not weight-loss oriented.
I ask clients to think broadly about ways to measure results such as: improved sleep quality, decreased anxiety or depression, increased strength and stability, or increased ease of daily activities.
Strength training and functional fitness are an important part of my own life as well. I’ve always been active in various ways - from team sports, to martial arts, and a fondness for kettlebell training that I developed in my 40s. All of these activities still play a part in my life, training, and approach to fitness. I’ve spent 5 years honing my coaching skills at Seattle area gyms, helping folks lift weights safely, improve their conditioning, and perform intense boxing workouts to address the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease.
I strive to find balance between all my interests inside and outside of the gym. When I’m not lifting heavy things or coaching others to do the same, I love to cook, read, play with my rescue two dogs, or experiment with mixed-media arts and crafts.
